Please do not give Pedipaws your Money. December 3, 2008 D. Kerr (Winsor Mills,Md) We bought this product for our mild mannered semi-lazy cat so we could trim her claws. We tried the slow introduction everyting, there is no way in hell a normal cat would let u use this on them unless u sedate them.Totall waste of money better off clipping their nails.
Waste of time and money December 3, 2008 Orion (Las Vegas, NV USA) This is a rotary tool, like a dremel, with a small sandpaper head that is supposed to file down nails. It didn't work on my dog (Sheltie). The dog was patient enough, but I was not. Do you think I want to sit there all day with a paw in my lap, waiting for this thing to grind down a toenail? I gave up long before the sandpaper wore out, but I just can't believe it would last very long. One thin little piece of sand paper against all those doggie nails, how long could it last? If I had thought about it, I might have tried my Dremel tool, but even that seems pretty silly. I just grabbed the good old clippers and had the nails off in two shakes of a puppy-dog's tail, or I should say about 30 seconds. Do you know what the worst part is? It's how stupid I felt, not only for buying this ridiculous product, but for actually sitting there for 10 minutes trying to make it work. If you want an As-Seen-On-TV product that actually works, try the Shoe Away Show Organizer.
Pedipaws December 3, 2008 T.L.Muza (Virginia) This is a great product! I bought it to cut down on cost of dog grooming (I have two) and it works just like it says! My dogs are still not used to it, but they are getting there. It is safe and easy to use.
Works but you have to have time and patience December 2, 2008 J. M. Young (Port Orchard, WA) I bought this and like other people got the dogs used to it. I let them see it with out the batteries first then with the sound. They did ok. When I first started on the one dog (a bichon) she did not like it, but she does about the same with the clippers. We got one paw done in about 10 minutes, so I stoppped. I tried one nail on the other dog and she did ok. It does take a while, but I like the speed since any faster and I think it would hurt them. One thing I did notice is that there is no directions on which way this thing should be held and found the direction it is held on the picture on the box did not work as well. Another tip is to hold the base of the nail while filing becasue it pulls too much if you just hold the paw. I will continue to use this since the nails don't have the jagged edges they do with the other clippers. It will be the quality time for the dogs just like brushing their teeth and coat.
Doesn't work on big dogs December 1, 2008 Susan L. Villard (Lexington Park, Maryland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A great concept but not powerful enough to sand down larger nails. I have a yellow lab and was so excited to try this out on him, but the little belt sander inside basically stopped because my dog's nail was so thick. It did smooth the edges down like an emory board would but it does not take the nail way back like the comercial shows. I ended up giving it to my friend to try on her chiuaua. Another friend of mine has a boxer and experienced the same problem.
