This helps protect the animal from the heat. The snuggle safe heating pad itself is very hot and it would hurt the animal if they had direct contact with it. This cover ensures that they are not hurt. It isn't necessary to buy it really, you could just fold a blanket around it.

A must have to cover the heated pad: when taking puppies to the vet or going to a winter dog show. It stays on when a towel won't.

Helps keep hedgie nice and warm, but not too warm :)
It fits better than the one that came with the snuggle safe disc.

I looked a year or so ago and couldn't find the covers only. I'm very glad they make these. Our disk lasts forever but the covers wear out. This one seems a little better made than the original.
